Program Overview
The EKG Technician Program prepares students with the skills and knowledge necessary to perform diagnostic procedures related to heart health. Students will learn how to operate electrocardiogram equipment, record and analyze heart rhythms, and assist physicians and cardiologists in diagnosing cardiovascular conditions. The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on practice to ensure students are confident and job-ready.

Typical Duties
Prepare patients for EKG testing & explain procedures
Helping patients feel comfortable while explaining the testing process clearly and professionally.
Assist with stress tests & Holter monitoring
Supporting healthcare providers with cardiac monitoring and diagnostic evaluations.
Operate & maintain EKG/ECG equipment
Using specialized equipment to perform accurate cardiac diagnostic testing.
Recognize arrhythmias & report to care team
Identifying abnormal heart rhythms and communicating findings to medical staff.
Record & monitor heart rhythms and vital signs
Supporting healthcare teams with routine administrative and patient-care responsibilities.
Maintain HIPAA compliance & chart results
Ensuring patient confidentiality while accurately recording test results and documentation.
